They Think It's All Over……...

We have made it to the final week of term and the children have all worked incredibly hard and achieved more than even I could have hoped for!

We have a fun filled week ahead with art projects inspired by 'What Snowmen Do At Night', Christmas cards to make and a winter scene to paint.

On Wednesday we are all having a Christmas meal together in the hall which is always great fun. Then, on Thursday we will have a party in the classroom with all of the delicious food and drink that you have kindly signed up to provide - Father Christmas will also be putting in an appearance and giving the class some well earned gifts. On Thursday the children can also come in in their own clothes ready for the party - something festive always goes down well!

As a point of housekeeping - we will be sending home the Narnia wardrobes that the children have made and clearing out their drawers with them so there will be more things to make space for at home I'm afraid.

On the last day of term the children can bring in games and toys of their own as long as they are not electrical, and we will finish the term off with a film for us all to enjoy.

Mrs Dolman and I would like to wish you all a Happy Christmas and we hope that you have a wonderful holiday with your children.

Our Trip to Monkey World

We have recently been learning about the tropical rain forests and how the animals that live there are being affected by on-going deforestation. We focussed particularly on the plight of the Oragutans and were lucky enough to be able to play our own small part in helping to save these wonderful animals by adopting one of the baby Oragutans at Monkey World.

Last week we took time out to visit the park with Year 6 and were able to learn about all of the animals there and even visit Reike, the baby that we have adopted. She was absolutely gorgeous and full of funny faces and somersaults to entertain us!

The children behaved beautifully throughout the day and learnt lots from the part keepers about the variety of monkeys and apes that are there; and where they came from; and how they were rescued.

We now have our own cute representation of Reike that we have brought back to the classroom and will be coming home with our 'star of the week' each weekend for cuddles and fun.
